question Fork color.. gold vs silver

I own a 2008 wrr and it has silver colored forks. I have two buddies with 08 wrr and wrx and their forks are gold. whats up with that?

My guess is that maybe the other WR250R is not a 2008 model, as 2008 and 2009 models had silver upper fork tubes, while 2010 got the gold ones.

Also, the WR250X was sold in this country with black upper fork tubes (and black frame and swingarm), regardless of model year.

The yamaha colouring strategy remains a mistery to me. Here in germany we always used to have black frame with silver forks for both x and r. Now for the 2016 model its changed to silver frame and gold forks. In the mean time the US colouring as YZEtc has said is again completely different makes you wonder if they actually have a strategy/reasoning behind it. Or it might be an intern screwing around

I got a WRR with blue plastics.
I put the black plastics on it and it looks sooooo good with the gold forks... :)

Blends in nicely with the road too.
