Hi I posted about this on supermotojunkie but thought I would come here and see if there was anything else I should do. I recently acquired a 2009 WR250x that has been siting under a cover outside for the last 3 years and I was wondering if anyone had some guidance on how to proceed on firing it up for the first time. Besides obviously changing the fluids I've seen some saying to put a some mystery oil in the cylinder and hand rotate it to pre-lube the walls. Also seafoam or techron was mentioned. The bike was parked with little to no gas per the original owner. The only part that had been exposed to the elements is from half the rear sprocket down where the cover doesn't well cover so I'm assuming the chain will be a lost cause.

I'd also pull the injector and clean it (theres youtube vids on how to do this), if there wasn't a ton of fuel stabilizer in the fuel system it will be plugged making the bike run poorly or not even start.

I'd change gas, oil and battery, remove sparkplug, crank it for 10 secs, insert sparkplug and start it up.

Then have a go at replacing brakefluid, fork-oil and coolant, and grease everything up (swingarm, linkage, wheelbearings, steeringhead ect ect...)

Make sure to have the stator recall done aswell.

Thanks for the help. At least I'll get to learn about it as I get it running. Going to do it over the winter as a project.
