I've a "Spiral" seat.
Has a shark skin (like) finish.
One color, dark charcoal, at least when I got this one.
& yes it is a step seat.
Mine will lower the rider by a good 1.5"
It is a bit narrower than the stock seat so that will also help lower the rider.
Been on a couple of long rides & that may be a draw back for some boney butt riders, (me).
The back part of the seat can be slide upon w/o an issue. This helps to lift the front wheel over logs or stinky road kill on a single track.
The seat cover is not slippery at all & sometimes I can grip the thing when I do something stupid but recover.
Easy to clean w/ water & a tooth brush when it gets muddy.
Have spilled fuel on it w/ no discoloration nor change of the shark skin pattern.
If you need bigger butt support or thigh riding. I would not suggest this seat.
However at my dressed wieght of 140 lb that isn't an issue.
Hope this helps
