Brake Light Stuck On:
Missing the days of $2 light bulbs. Multimeter at plug showed brake switches working so I got a new light @ $71.
Pics show pretty much what happened to the old one; sleeve got rubbed through and one of the resistor/diode units shorted. 10 years and 53k on the bike. If you want to prevent this I suggest you cut the zip ties and slide off the sleeve and blow the dirt out(mine had a lot), replace and plug ends with sealant and wrap with a few layers of friction or fiberglass tape and zip tie it back in place. Yeah it's a PITA working back there and it really sucked in finger-freezing weather.
Later peeled back insulation enough to see [7-5ohm5] printed on undamaged area. May be able to order these components and fix old light.
