Bike hard to start at 9-19 degrees F

I have been taking the bike out on cold days, but am disappointed by the hard starts. Talking to other WR owners, it sounds like their bikes start fine in the cold. Should I check the diagnostic mode for codes? Other cars have had problems going into the default mode when a sensor is screwed up causing hard starts in cold weather. Battery related? Let me know what you think should be the next step.

No need to go into the DIAG mode to check for codes. If you had a code your check engine light would be on. Probably a fuel problem. Bad stale gas or something like that. High mileage? Might want to check the spark plug too. If it cranks fast than it's probably not a voltage issue.

After reading other reviews, and the low mileage of my bike, I think this was just a new tight engine. The problem has not returned. Sunday I rode for an hour and started on second try, and tonight it fired right up. Mileage is now at 80. Could have also been bad original gas from dealer. Whatever it was, it is gone.
