| So again....but to a different person....what do you expect to get out of a tire?
I like to run the fucker pretty hard. Rev limiter hard (almost) in at least the first three gears constantly.
Even a "little 250" is throwing down some torque in the first fear gears.
I've about run out of tread on the stock tires. I've got about 3500 miles on her. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

3500 is impressive out of the stockers. I got 1000 less. What PSI you running?

Somewhere between 24 and 28 psi depending on weather conditions....I think.... _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| Haven't use the Avons on my X but did have them on my DL650 VStrom & earned only 5,500 miles. Found the compound to be softer than expected but that was my not researching before buying. I was doing a lot of slab touring fully loaded & some gravel road on the way to Alaska. Just my experience w/ these tires. | |

| Did someone tried these tires offroad ? How do they manage in mud or on deep sand ? | |

How do they manage in mud or on deep sand ? Hi Dancamp, I haven't heard much about these tires so I can't comment on mud/deep sand. I ride 90 street/10 dirt so I'm gonna test these out on some fire roads/packed dirt and gravel, grass, curbs, sidewalks, commuting. I hope to do a little more dirt here and there but for all dirt riding I ride my little CRF100.

| It'll be interesting to see how those puppies so actually do offroad. They look like they should take a bit of abuse. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I've managed to get them off the payment - as reported earlier in the thread Although I have not done baja with them yet ( nor do I plan to ) they work great for me on gravel/dirt type roads. - superbee24 wrote:
- And how do they go through nice wet mucky fresh roadbase (gravel)
Well, this stuff was super sticky - but I managed to get through the short section.

| Looking at the picture worries me. If the space between knobs is to small, the mud doesn't get a chance to be evacuated.
In dry conditions these tires might be good but I have doubts in wet muddy situations.

In dry conditions these tires might be good but I have doubts in wet muddy situations. I had gotten off the throttle once I cleared the area so there was no "speed" to clear the tire. But, yes, it is not a knobbie by any means, it is a dual sport type tire.

| It's all about expectations... mine is to have a bit more dirt/fire road and grass traction for my style riding than the stock X tires provided. A good cheap dual sport that is great for me. I'm not mudding my X, if I were I would be running knobbies or just bring my other dirt bike so no worries for me. Anyone looking for a more aggressive tire should review rydnseeks thread regarding pirelli mt21's. | |

| After the ride that I had today I think the Shinko would be ok. If the stock tires could do what they did, the Shinkos will work like a dream. | |

| anyone try to run a 150/70 on the back of the wrx? i have a 4.25" wheel, i wonder if it is worth it. it is another $30 more then the 140.
edit* it looks like it will fit fine according to the specs. but, now to the next quandry. the 150 is a radial, and the front, a 120/90, is bias play. aren't you not supposed to mix bias and radial tires?

| Hey Superbee...
Can ya' give us an update on how many miles you have on the tires... any delamination? How are they wearing?
Finally, what pressures are you running and how are these tires on marbles? (bad gravel roads)
It's lookin' like BigFeet (my bike's nickname) may be goin' more street/highway in the next year.
Thanks!

| UPDATE as requested: I now have 4000 miles on these tires. THey are wearing extremely well. Normally run 30front and back down to 20 when riding gravel/dirt roads. Street- a little slick when you first take off - warm up and hold pretty well after a few miles Rain- VERY easy to get the rear to slide - no biggie with pedal control - have not had any issues with front Dirt and Gravel - Much better than a street tire and definitely not a Knobby Wear - pretty happy - by the looks of it, I got another easy 4k miles left ! Value - for the price I would easily buy again Delamination - has not been an issue for me- maybe due to tire pressures and MOST Likely due to light weight of the bike - also has had probably less than 300 miles of 2up riding done on it. Overall - good tire for the price paid. I am sure there are better tires to go faster on the street or dirt on, but again for the price it's hard to beat IMHO. Here are pics of front and back taken this morning. Front still looks brand new. Rear has minor wear. | |
