| How fast can you get the WR250R up to on the highway? | |

| It varies. Dependent on weight of rider, terrain, etc. I've had mine up to 103 mph on flat tarmac, just to see what it would do. That was quite a while ago, mind you...back when I first got the bike. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| thanks for your reply. 103 is impressive for a 250. What was your body weight at the time? | |

| Me thinks you are missing some key factors. Highway cruise\max speed capabily is primarily impacted (assuming stock condition) by elevation above sealevel, frontal area and road incline. Weight has some minor impact but on flat roadway it would be negligible. Toss in how the bikes are modified, locations of riders and no way to even guess at frontal area any responses you get are going to be effectively useless except to say that the bike has good power for a 250cc. | |

| Oh hell this thing has lots of gogo on the highway. Passes no problem, and it's very nimble. I'm not gonna smack you. *wraps Skip up in a g-string instead* _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I was on a recent 3500 mile trip with about 2500 miles being highway. On my last day I held it WFO between 3 fuel fill-ups. I could consistently get it up to 99mph (indicated) 134kmh actual (according to GPS). I could never break the 100mph mark on the speedometer. I weigh about 210 in full gear, but I also had about 30lbs in a giant loop coyote and a small dry bag. I was also running 13/46 gearing.
All trucks in most of Europe drive at 100kmh, but cars usually have a 130 or 120 limit. I have no problem passing trucks and cruising at an actual 120 kmh for hours on end.
BTW, R2 gets crap gas mileage at WOT. | |

| As far as power, obviously there is no replacement for displacement, its no xr650, but for a 250 it has good power. I just got back form a ride with a buell ulysses 1200, yamaha fz6, an older harley (no idea what model ) and a honda v45 magna 750. I can corner fast and come out of them fast and it is a very manuverable bike. i had no trouble keeping up at 65-70mph | |
