Man, I've road-raced bikes (just club racing stuff) for the last 8 years. $350 is a STEAL for everything Travis does to the rear shock. As I said, it's money well spent. $200 for the fork kit is a great price also. Just as a point of reference, an Ohlins 20mm fork re-valve kit will set you back at least $600 and that does not include installation. Their new 30mm kit runs well over $2000. I know it's comparing apples to oranges talking about road racing and off road but good suspension is expensive. Scott P.

Whoa there dtx. I wasn't trying to offend you or anyone else. Just passing along my limited experience with suspension work. Travis did mine. I like it and I felt the pricing was reasonable. If you've got someone that has done a good job for you for a good price, then I am good with that. Didn't mean for my post to come off as antagonistic. Hard to hear voice tone and see facial expressions over the internet....... Thanks, Scott P.

| I understand you get what you pay for in suspension. I was going to use Durelle and get one lowered when i first got the bike.He was going to lower the bike 3-4 inches, with a spring i could have done the whole thing for that. This was for a DTX setup,Flat track practic bike. Things change and i wanted the rear to stop tryin to toss me over the bars,if i was to add a spring with a revalve that is still a lot of coin. I dont see the value, but i have not rode that bike. It could just be that good !! Shame on yamaha for selling the wrr/x with such a poor shock, and they raised the price this year to !! | |

| Good parts and good service cost money. I have no idea whether I'll spend the money on this for my bike. But I did just spend double the cost of an average (sheetmetal) radiator guard to get a better guard. I certainly have no problem saving up to get a better product. In the long run you wind up happier than settling for "standard". I'm not sure I could utilize all the suspinsion upgrades. But I certainly wouldn't mind spending the money if I thought I needed it. And at some point I may make that determination. | |

| Hey Travis, for the fork kit, is the only difference between sending to you and ordering kit the labor (us vs you supply) ? I was really wanting to get this done during cold weather. As usual, I want it done right the first time though. I also have no problem doing the labor to save some pennies. Thanks. | |

| Yes that is right. Your labor vs mine. My fork service charge for the rebuild is $175.00 I will also add that if a wrench feels like a foreign object in your hand, please send them to me for repairs. I also know that a lot of you may have a Gold wrench award hanging on the wall. This is a "meticulous" straight forward service. This job is not for the soft clean hand man who does not like or know to check the oil... Its dirty greasy "technical" and fun i think.. Others with experience in such procedures please chime in on your views. | |

| Really Glad to hear the suspension is working out! As far as the temp issue with the shock, I would disagree with the logic.. Possibly at the very coldest temps and at the very beginning of your ride the shock may feel stiffer. But the temp of the oil inside will quickly rise with a few good bumps. The fork temps will stay pretty cool and could technically increase the damping feel. The shock in stock form is so far off and full of Air that i do not think it matters at all what temps or conditions it is in.. Its going to be crappy... Happy Holidays everyone. | So it's upwards of $650 and you do the fork yourself. That seems awful high for a bike that isn't a race bike but rather a DS. I suppose there are other options ? | |
