Were there any significant tech changes from 2008 to 2011?

... or were they all just cosmetic?

It's hard finding info out on upgrades year to year. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed other than plastic and graphics? Is this true?

Holy CRAP! Did you read all that? There were a lot of parts changed out.

I've always been warned not to buy the first year of anything, but still it looks like just as many parts were changed out each year. Oh well, I'm sure the 08 is pretty decent as is.

Don't worry about those number changes if you're looking at a 2008 model.
They don't add-up to anything, and, I believe, the guy had time on his hands.

Yeah, if you are looking at an '08 you should be fine.
The only thing that I have heard of is early models having some issues with the fuel pumps.
If the bike you are looking at has 3,000 or 4,000 miles on it with no prolems with the fuel pump, you should be okay.

The bike only has 900 miles. I'll check out some threads on the fuel pumps and see what I can find out. Thanks!

Well that's not really true. There was a significant change. The 2010 has white plastic and of course white is the best looking of the bunch and by far the fastest!
