Mag wheels???

I just passed my local BMW dealer & saw the new G650GS. Looks very nice, & VERY well priced. It has mag wheels, so I looked around the internet, & there is quite a debate going on about whether mag wheels are strong/reliable enough for dual purpose bikes. Also, I saw the pictures of the Japan bike show WR with mag wheels - looked awesome! So: my spokes are almost totally trashed & wondered if anyone had experience with mag wheels???

I don't think I've seen aluminum wheels in a 21"size. I usually only see them in 16, 17, 18 and 19 fronts (Vstrom, GS, etc.) They're obviously OK for the street. But I wouldn't ride them anywhere else. They can bend and break rather easily. Hell, I cracked my front VFR wheel in a rather small pot hole.
