Tank fell of the bike with the fuel line still connected.
Good news is, I was actually able to fix it.
I was going to try a threaded pipe fitting, but there wasn't enough to thread.
Instead I used some 8mm brake line.
First I took the connector out of the pump housing. Major PITA because of the line in the pump it connects to.
Then I drilled a pilot hole through the top of the pump fitting(I removed some material first).
I heated the brake line up and pushed it into the hole. The plastic melted nicely. once it cooled, I couldn't pull it out if I wanted to. I jb welded it to be sure.
On the other end, I rounded and smoothed the tip so it wouldn't chew up the soft orings in the fuel line, slipped a small oring over the line and put it where the ridge on the connector is. I JB welded that in place also.
The only problem I has was that the bend needed to be sharper, and the line pushed a little farther into the pump. I had to make an extra ugly bent after I put everything back together so the fuel line didn't hit the valve cover.
My bike is an 08 so I'm going to buy a new pump anyway, but at least I can ride until it shows up.
I should have took more pix, but I did get one crappy cell pic.
