I have no idea if that's any good or not. Never measured the mileage before I started tinkering, but it doesn't seem to be too bad. I put this up here for those interested in how certain mods affect mpg.

Low fuel light came on at 91 miles, and at 94.6 miles it took 1.511 gal to top it off.

I'm on the throttle pretty hard most of the time. I suppose that if I were to ease off a bit I'd see mileage closer to the 70's.

The PC5/Autotune is only making small adjustments now, so I think she's about as dialed in as she'll get with the current list of mods.

The state of the machine thus far:

Full Graves exhaust (EXUP removed as a necessary deletion to accommodate new exhaust system)
Dynojet PC5 with Autotune
Airbox flapper and actuator removed.
NoToil air filter
AIS removed
Athena 290 Big Bore kit

Bike runs strong. The power band is very similar to the stock bike, except that where the 250 is running its strongest, the 290 is stronger. You can really feel the hit when it's in the magical part of the rev range.

Had a lot of fun on the little rascal this morning! 62.6 mpg after 290 BB kit and other mods 61865

Now... where's that 310/320 kit... 62.6 mpg after 290 BB kit and other mods 3300039479

If you're going off the stock speedo, that mileage is about what I get on my nearly stock bike so I'd say its pretty good. thumb

I'm feeling a big bore in my future...

Yup. Measured using the finely tuned, infinitely accurate (+/- 5%) stock speedo. Also still have stock gearing.

Bob, there are no more mystery noises, or have you said, to heck with it?

There are noises that weren't there with the stock setup. I just drained the oil (again) to see if there is any unusual wear. I'm letting the drained oil settle out at the moment. If I still see fine metal shavings this time I'll be concerned. I'm hoping that it was just break-in wear the first time. I'll post up in a little while with my findings.

If no, or little metal, I'll not worry about it. Just keep riding the crap out of it until it breaks or the 310/320 kit arrives.

Stock motor I never got over 60mpg.

I'm usually in the 50-55mpg range.

If you're getting over 60mpg that's good no matter what mods you've done.

Oil is pristine! No metal, so...

Ride the crap out of it! 62.6 mpg after 290 BB kit and other mods 379944

I'll post this little bit of good news in the thread that I initially started to gather people to help me worry about this particular issue.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled mpg thread.

Kinda what I thought. I can't remember the last bike that I've had that got more than 45 mpg.
