| I’m 53. I’ve been away from motorcycling for almost two decades. I lived for on/off road cycling from before I turned 16. I used to go on long solo adventures even before I got my license, following every rail in every direction on my 1970 CL100. My first actual on/off road machine was a slightly used Honda SL125.
Those little four-stroke singles were sadly gutless but I never minded because they always brought me back home again.
I had lots of bikes after those two, always wanted pure off-road two-strokes, usually ended up on four-stroke on/off road for the reliability and minimal maintenance. A head-on collision with a car helped me in transitioning to mountain bikes in the mid 90s. A failing knee has made bicycling less fun lately. I’ve also been enjoying Yamaha Zuma scooters for the last three seasons.
Those scooters brought back memories of my love of motorcycling. Choosing between the Suzuki DRZ400 and the WR250R has not been easy. I’m stoked to be the new owner of a 2014 WRR. I’m healing from knee replacement surgery right now so I’m mostly just setting up the bike. I just finished redoing the tail light/ license plate… I know lots of folks here have redone the tail of the WRR. I took a different route with mine. Look for my write-up and photos in “Sweet Mods and Bike Accessories” soon.

That was about a year ago. I just clipped a rock with my foot going down a hill. It happened so quick I am not sure exactly what I hit. I had my Tech 3 boots on but the impact was on the top of my foot. It was the sesamoid bone.

| 54 here. I want to thank the older folks for posting up ... it gives anyone younger a snap shot of what the future might/could hold if health and vitality are in check. | |

The tire options for a smaller front wheel would be cool.. i've often wondered what it would be like {having a more balloon sized front tire} ... its ability to crawl up out of frozen ruts... or mud ruts in general.. {compared to a narrow front tire with fewer knobs}.. i checked out your web site as well.. got some nice pictures in there kbike!

A fat front tire on a dirt bike is like the trend that bicycles are going to for Fat Tire bicycles for riding in snow and sand. I also have a 21" front wheel that I alternate with the 17". I like the 17" a little better for streets and canyon riding. For me the disadvantages of the 17" for off road are not that big a deal.
Thanks for the comments!
