Hi y'all,
I'm the new owner of a WR250R in west Texas. I have lots of road miles (over 250K on my 1982 Harley), but it has been several years since I've done much dirt riding. I got the bug again and bought the 250R on the recommendation of some of my dirt bike buds. I look forward to participating in the forum.

I have a question about a water bottle. I used to have several of these bottles, but I can't remember the brand name. They would strap with a velcro strip on to a mount that bolted to the cross bar of the handlebars. The bottle came in a 1 qt. and 2 qt. version, and the bottle itself was sort of a "hot dog bun" shape--it had a groove in it so it would wrap around the mount and cross bar. I've looked all over and can't find this bottle. Anyone remember them? I'm attaching a picture of the mount on my old Husky.

grw800, I used to race cross country in the late 70's and early 80's, and vaguely remember what you're saying, but don't have a name for that item, and haven't seen them in some time.

These days, the guys like the "camel back" packs with big flexible straws so they can drink on the run.

Also pretty cool looking is the "Sweetcheeks" accessory, which doubles as a seat, to prevent that tiny, wedge-shaped seat from going places only your proctologist should see...

Welcome back; you're gonna have a gas!

It's called an Enduro Jug:

Scroll down about a page.

I've found them on eBay from time to time. Search for 'enduro jug'. I just did and there is a Vintage Enduro Jug hose kit for $9.95, buy it now. Keep watching and a jug will pop up sooner or later. I'm looking for another blue jug.

Acerbis makes one that is very similar, but the jugs and mounts don't interchange.

Thanks, guys. Enduro Jug, that's it. I'll watch eBay for one and hope the old plastic isn't too brittle. I'm using a CamelBak now, but would like to have a bottle always on the bike, too.
Ramz, I see you're from Salida. I was just up in Fairplay a couple weeks ago for the RMIHR (Rocky Mt. International Harvester Rendezvous, a rally for IH Scouts & trucks). Due to circumstances I was there w/o my Scout but had my brand-new WR with me. My first rides on the bike were Mosquito Pass and Georgia Pass/Glacier Ridge. What fun!
