If you're more concerned about your off road performance than on road, the Mitas tires are hard to beat. These are pretty much as aggressive as any for dirt plus they only cost me $160 for both, taxes and eco fees in...and delivered. I've got about 3000km (2000mi) on them. The back is still OK but will be done by the time I put the bike to bed for the winter. The front will last me another season, easy. They're definitely noisier and less stable at top highway speeds but not unbearable. Tires are always a trade off. They're either only really good at one thing (dirt or road) or good at nothing (which is a good true dual sport tire). SheWolf has a good thread on them (Feb 2010) - Mitas / D606 shoot out. Cheers
