Heat wrap

What would be the better choice. Ceramic coating vs heat wrap. Don't know much about either. Heat wrap can cause rust.

What exactly do you think you'll gain by such a modification?

Not looking for anything to gain really. Just want to get the heat away from the motor, legs, plastics etc etc. It won't do any harm. I am going with the ceramic coating because I can get it done for pretty much free but was just looking for thoughts/ideas from peeps who may have used these products before.

"Getting heat away" from anything other than your leg is kind of wasted effort (imho).....but it's your bike and your money (or not).

Love to see what a ceramic coated exhaust will look like. Please post pics if/when you get it done.

I think I read once upon a time that keeping exhaust gases hotter longer keeps up the velocity of gas through the pipes. Whether that makes even a measurable difference is up for debate.
Keeping some heat off the leg would be swell though.

+1 for pics after the ceramic coating is done.

My pipe causes pine straw and leaves to instantaneously combust when they come in contact with it. It might be worth it to wrap it to stop that. Preventing forest fires and all. I've never felt any annoying heat on my leg though.

I've heard of muscle car guys worried about exhaust temp. I think condensation in the pipes was part of it.
though im just repeatin hear say.

i read the other day that the wrap keeps the exhaust gasses hotter longer so exhaust flow is improved and it also keeps the engine area a bit cooler.
