only 130-140km before fuel light comes on

Hi guys,

My fuel llight comes on at 130-140km's is this ok? I am running knobbies on the road and highway, i do have road tryes on the way will that make a difference. i dont thrash it and 6th is only used over 90km/h.

no mods, just had a thought maybe its time to change the air filter... what are people using for the road?

140 kilometers is about 87 miles.

That's about 58 miles per gallon. Or 93 kilometers per gallon.

That's not bad at all - but then that depends on who you're talking to.

What were you expecting?

Pretty normal, I'd say. I've averaged about 145 km over the past year, to the light.

well i guess its good then. how many km's do you get after the fuel light? i've never really done many km's after the light comes on.

There's supposed to be a half gallon of gas left in tank when light comes on.

If I were you, I wouldn't go more than 20-25 miles after light comes on.

It all depends on your throttle hand.

I've never run out, but come close a couple of times when I knew gas was near. I figure I can go about another 55 km to bone dry after the light comes on, based on what I've put in and what the tank is said to hold. Usually for me, light on == look for gas.

The stock tank is fine for boppin' around a city, or going on short trail rides, but if you're going off roading in the woods or somehwere you might run into sand, snow or mud (amazing gas wasters) you HAVE to get the bigger 3.1 IMS tank at least...

what air filter are people running for road use? i just have the stock one

Stock is perfectly fine. Just keep it clean and well oiled.

thats normal mate..... i run MT21's and i sit on 110km/h

Note you will still have another 60km's before you need to worry about getting fuel

Seems normal to me.

With 13/49 gearing, FMF Q4, PowerBomb header, FMF programmer, and D606 knobbies, I'm lucky to clock 100kms before the fuel light comes on (but I'm not very nice to the throttle, either).

I plan on installing a Safari tank soon.
