13/45 stock chain

I read through a few posts around the net and was under the impression 13/45 would work on my X with a stock chain. I tried this last weekend and could not get the sprocket to fit even with the adjusters all the way in. Who here has actually done this? Might there be something I was doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I think for 13/45 you need 110

You could try removing the front sprocket. Get the chain on the back. Replace front sprocket. Might be tight though.

I would be overly concerned about the chain being WAY too tight if he managed to get the 45 tooth on.

Perhaps a quick, and cheap fix woulf be getting a 12t for the front.

Still not sure if that would provide enough slack in chain though.

I had read it would fit but would be very tight in several posts in various places. I wanted to start this thread to just confirm it does not work if nothing else. A 110 link is needed for a 13/45 set up. Thanks for the replies guys.
