Amazing what an old toothbrush and some simple green can accomplish.

That rear hub has never been cleaned since I bought bike.

I must have a fever......

I notice the plastics are a matte white, did you paint or plastidip them? I've been itching to pull the decals and plastidip mine for some time now. The gloss black just looks beat from all the scratches and wear.

You're right, looks like a totally different bike. I'm a sucker for the panda, white and black scheme!

Rattle-can spray paint. Krylon Fusion. It's a gloss paint that's started to lose its gloss over some time.

Thoughts are circling in my head about a repaint come this fall.

Give (Shout) as in the laundry soap a try next time. I’ve found that it works just as well if not better than Simple green at a fraction of the price.
Simple green has been known to dull some finishes if left to sit too long, this stuff wont. It’s friendly to all material and makes your bike smell purdy.

Simple Green is bad for aluminum. Has been found out by airplane manufactures that it corrodes aluminum.

Loving the clean look. What would be the best way to take the decals off and preserve them in case I change my mind down the road? Also if I do end up doing this, would I need to change the color of the bike on my title, registration and insurance?

As best I know.....you can't save the decals once you remove them.

I think they get stretched in the process of removal anyway.

I hated the decals and the Yamaha blue so much that I never even thought about trying to save anything though.

The title, registration and insurance call out color?


For a decal change, or removal, that shouldn't be an issue at all.

My changes might be something I should look at......I guess.......maybe tomorrow.........or next week..........

I'm fairly sure they do. As for insurance though I don't know if it says on the proofs you get to carry with the bike. Someone who's looked at these documents more recently than I would have a better idea.

Well I had a look at my proof of insurance, my old bikes registration and my new title aaaaaaaaaannnnnddddd none of them list the color.
So it looks like I'll be picking up some white plastidip and having myself a little winter project
Has anyone ever just sprayed plastidip over the stock decals and had any luck not screwing them up ? Or is it best to just remove them and throw away?
