| I'm 5'5 / 127lbs add a few more pounds in full leathers. I'm running the Battle Axe S20's 120/150. I had my X at full lean yesterday. To the point where I felt my front tire break loose. Almost a lowside. I'm running 26lbs front and rear. Stock suspension, no YammaLink. I have never scraped my (stock) foot pegs. I'm just wondering why most of the guys I ride with scrape pegs. I have no problem NOT spending extra cash on new pegs. Any of ya NOT scraping pegs? | |

| If I'm trying to scrape the right peg, I set up by hanging a butt cheek off the left side of the seat. Then I keep all my weight on the left and push the bike right. | |

| Your bike sits up high. It's narrow.
Just ride it and enjoy.
Don't worry about hitting hard parts.
If you're riding that hard on the street you're pushing your luck big time.

+1 People always think they want to scrape hard stuff until they scrape hard stuff. Leverage ain't just a financial term.

Not worried really, Just wondering why I wasn't. I have a few spots around town I can ride above normal street riding. Parking lots and an abandoned track. Pushing my luck at lower risk of being hit by a car.

| I only drag hard parts when I fall off.
I've been to the kart track a few times, and before I'm dragging anything I can feel the tires starting to slip so I reduce the lean angle. I'm running Bridgstone BT-003's, for the record.

| I'm only going like 25 when I do it. Not really going fast just making tight turns. | |

| Im 5'6'' 180 and I hit canyons knee out. With BT-003 RS 120/150 and I cant drag knee or peg. I drag boots through some turns though. If you're making that turn fast. I wouldn't worry about dragging pegs. I've got DRC pegs with sliders, raised up 5mm, shorter than stock, and a wider foot print front to back. | |

| hmmm, I drag the DRC supermoto pegs on kart track all the time... before I firm up the rear preload. I'm probably around 165lb geared. I still drag them now, a bit less, but still do. A nice grippy kart track should allow you to do that. Make sure the conditions are good, and that your tire pressure is good for the type of tire it is and the track. On a small kart track, I run about 20f and 22r HOT in my ContiAttack SM. It works good. Similar pressure for ContiForce and Pilot Power. ContiForce SM gets grease easier though when you are rly pushing it. The new Attacks are awesome. If you are in a parking lot that's a different story. The condition vary lol.
I wouldn't suggest putting the pegs down on the road. If you are on a kart track and the conditions are good and you have "good" street tires, such as the tires I've listed above, you can do it!!! The stock peg will touch the ground and stay there. It's scary and you might lowside a couple times trying, but it's very possible. :) it also depend a bit on how you ride :)

| Just picked up a WR/R last weekend (I know this is the X section). Loving it. A bit surprised the pegs deck out so easily but perhaps this is the result of combing dualsport plush suspension with 17" wheels? Dunno...never had a tard before. | |
