Whats the easiest/best way to remove the decals?

I used WD40 and a razor blade for the stickers it worked pretty well, but it would be too tedious for the big decals.

Also does anyone know where I can buy Yamaha blue spray paint? (I have searched and can't find any) I want to paint the white side plastics blue to match the rest, instead of the usual black that most roll with.

I have only seen one other WR painted this way but his blue color did not match.

Thanks in advance!

It appears that Yamaha has a solution for the decals: Click me

I know that carb cleaner will take gummy stuff right off but it might be too much for finish on the plastic or the plastic itself. Works great on metal/glass.

Heat it up for a couple and it will peel right off.

+2 on the hairdryer (not a heat gun!). Leave it in the sun first to heat the mass of the part to be stripped, else it will take longer to soften.

Pressure sensitive film adhesives like decals shear best at around 30 degrees, so once you get it started, rather pulling it back on itself past 90 degrees like most folks do, keep the leading edge behind the shear-line. This helps the adhesive stick to the decal, instead of being left behind on your bike.

If adhesive is left behind, I wet a paper towel with Varsol and drape it on the area, leave it a few minutes, and it dissolves the adhesive. Then clean the oily Varsol residue off with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).

Even though I use a heat gun, I agree and don't recommend it. You have to be really careful or if you can cause damage in a hurry haha.

I got all my decals off no problem but am hesitant to have a go at the FMF Q4 decal on the exhaust as I figure the heat has bonded it on super tight and don't want to be left with a butcher job.

Anybody have a go at that sucker yet?

What I did was had a blue R bike, and then ordered all the black pieces from an X model. Of course they come without stickers so perfect! I then had the rims powdercoated...
