| I have a '09 WR w/ ~12,000 miles on it. My bike is bone stock. I bought it new almost a year ago. I have had a problem with what I attribute to overheating. When I take it off road on hot days (I'm in Louisiana so everyday is hot) espicially when I am going slow for a while the engine will die. I can start it back up but it will only last for a few seconds. There are no lights coming on. The fan runs usually, but not always when the engine dies (or at least after I hit the kill switch[yes the key was still in the on position]).
If I sit around for a while it will eventually start and run for awhile depending on riding contidions, but after that it is more prone to doing it again for the rest of the riding day. This also happend while cruising at 75mph on the interstate for about 2 hours straight. I am assuming it is a overheating issue. No lights come on though, and I have radiator fluid in the bike. I was just wondering what the issue is, and if there are any fixes ya'll know of.

| These sounds like the symptoms of a fuel pump on its way out, do a quick search here for me details. | |

| '09 doesnt sound like fuel pump...but just me...? I would definitely consider the battery. Regular maintenance is assumed. An experienced tech should tell you in a hurry. | |

| Flush your coolant and replace with engine ice. Should dramatically reduce issues.
If issues are still persisting, it's your fuel pump. | |

| Funny story. I bought mine new with <1 mile on it. Just checked the radiator good (12,000 miles) and found oil in the reseviour. Not a lot, but it was caked on the sides at the top of the level of fluid. I read another thread where another guy had the same problem that just turned out to be possible contamination. He said he flushed it really good and hasn't seen any leaks or had any problems since. My fear is that I have gummy oil caked on the inside of my radiator and no way to really get it all out, and will have overheating problems until I replace the radiator. I got a bottle of engine ice, but now I am too worried about wasting it now (very expensive). | |

| Had oil in mine at 6k. Noticed it when flushing the system. I refilled with water wetter and have noticed some oil sitting at the top when I remove the rad cap. | |
