Anyone transition too and from another bike often? I've been splitting my time between a VTX1800 and the WR250X. It takes me several hours to fully transition to the different foot peg positions, handling differences, and power differences. After just two weeks of not riding the WR I feel like my skill level on it diminished greatly. I'm taking corners slower, putting my feet on the engine sliders instead of the pegs when I pull away from a stop, and running the piss out of it wondering where the power is.

I'm liking my WR more every day. My street ride is a KTM 950SM. It takes me a bit of time to retrain my foot as to where the kickstand is. The ubber power of the 950 is fun, but I'm leaning towards selling it on because the WR is just a whole lot more fun to thrash thru the hills free from the texting soccer mom's and the boredom of droning down the slab.

I climbed on a friend's CRF 450R yesterday and while the torque was nice, I found I can haul ass just as well down fast trails on the WR.

I'm REALLY liking this bike and love the fact that the more I scratch it up the better it looks.

I ride a KLX351 and a WR250X. The main difference is how the clutch feels. I get used to one, then when I get on the other it feels totally different. It seems to take me 5 minutes of stop and go riding to get in the groove. Luckily the seating positions are basically the same. I can see how it would be hard moving between your bikes, since they are so different.

Back when I still had my 610 Husky, my dad and I switched bikes, so he could try out the Husky. When I got on his cruiser and took off, my feet hit the ground instead of the footpegs! eeek I had to look down to see where the heck they were. I'm not a cruiser rider, so the seating position with my feet so far forward, butt sitting so low, and the slow handling due to the chopper-like rake on the fork felt really weird. I rode it for 20 miles and never did get used to it. I was glad when he pulled over to give me my bike back. He switches between it and a TW200, and it seems to work ok for him, but I don't think I could ever get used to it.

I do it all of the time. The biggest difference that I notice is the weight. I recently did a long trip on my BMW, which is about 700 lbs wet, and lots more loaded up for touring. When I got back and hopped on the KLR, it felt like a lightweight in comparison, even though I have it outfitted with a lot of adventure touring gear and probably weighs about 450 lbs. The WR/X feels like a bicycle!

Nothing compares to hopping on a Norton with a left foot brake and right foot shifting with 1st up and 2-4 down. That always took me a couple of blocks to get used to! Peace YAM

No issues going from my Scorpa Easy Trials Bike to the WR and back. They are so different. Scorpa : Hydraulic clutch, gear shifter I need to take foot off the peg to get to, no seat, 1/2 the weight and 4x the torque.

I was going to say... I never had any problems jumping from one bike to another EXCEPT for when I had both L and R side shifting/breaking.

It got pretty exciting upshifting going into a corner on my 250 AJS as though I breaking on my other bikes at the time. The good news was on a right side first turn if I got it right, I could brake going into the first turn.
