| I used to be into cars and trucks before I got married and had all these kids... This is my baby, but I don't really put any money into it. I need to. Someday I want to do a full restoration. It is a 1964 Chevy C-10. My grandfather bought it in 1965 and used it to run a roofing company. He passed away and it went to my uncle, then when I was 15 my uncle gave it to me. The thing starts up every time and runs like a top, but trying to keep up with the rust is a losing battle. Here are my grandparents in the truck back in the day. Back in early college, I picked up this car and spent many hours under it. It never got the attention it needed, and I finally ended up selling it not too long ago. I don't miss it. I replaced the turbo several times, upgraded the oil pump, rebuilt the carb, all new distributor, coil, plug wires, etc. Main seal went on it, then blew a brake line. Body rust. Interior needed work. I was in college and had absolutely no free time to work on it. 1980 Trans Am, 4.9L turbocharged. It was a real pig. Heavy and slow, handled poor, but it sort of looked cool. I also had a 1998 Pontiac GTP, which was a fun car. It had the 3.8L supercharged engine, and was much faster than the Trans Am, but it was front wheel drive and automatic. Fuel economy was pretty terrible, and it had 130,000 miles and the supercharger was about shot. It had a full Borla exhaust which sounded really nice. Sold it to buy my current car, a reliable, practical 2005 Mazda 3s. | |
