Here we go - The Electronic Cigarette - I literally quit smoking in 5 minutes with one of these things. You still get your nicotine fix (I don't mind that at all) and you're not sucking down some 3,000 chemicals and 43 carcinogens. Quit smoking the real thing and you can still enjoy the act of smoking and the nicotine with a QUALITY ecig - I haven't tried the Blucig but I have tried cheap ones... Don't do it in my opinion get a good one.
Yeap I ordered one up and got it in the beginning of January 2013 and in the first 6 weeks of using it I only smoked 4 Camel's - basically lit them up just to compare it to the new thing and all but the first one I lit - I was like damn this tastes like shit. A month or so later after that first 6 weeks I did cave in and smoke a couple packs but I was doing... other things at the time... Anyway back on track and not lighting up any more it was an easy transition back mainly because I don't want to smoke and the flavors of the ecig liquids taste good. I was tok'n my ecig in the office and someone walked in and was like, Damn it smells good in here, like bubble gum...
So on to what an ecig is... I bought the eGo Twist battery. So you have the battery and you screw a tank or cartridge thingy on the top of it. I have the Vivi Nova 3.5ml Tank, it can last me all day if I'm not puffin on it all the time. The tank... in the tank you fill it up with your liquid, you can have zero nicotine or nic levels of something like 8, 12, 18, 24, 32mg and you can get it in a variety of flavors. When I smoked I smoked half a pack to a pack a day, I choose the 18mg liquids - It maybe a little weak just switching over but I didn't want to risk switching to an ecig just to increase my nic intake to get high off of it... I'm satisfied with the 18 and I'll lower it soon so I can be Nic free someday - right now I don't care... I think 18mg liquids are equal to about a pack a day... The liquids come in VG / PG percentages, you can look into that I up I use 80%/20% or 50/50....
The eGo Twist is a variable voltage battery, allowing you to choose what voltage you want to vape at. 3.2V to 4.8V (Mine is usually set at 3.8v), It helps tune it in to get the flavor you like out of a liquid. My friend has the non twist variable volt version and he like it.... 650mah on the left/right and the silver 1000mah, along with some liquid.
It will take time for you to find a liquid that tastes good to you but Mt Baker Vaper has quality, good tasting liquids (link below). Some taste straight up horrible some are delightful and fun to smoke, get some small samples and figure out what you like... My all day vapes from Mt Baker Vapor are Solar Flare (tastes like a starburst), Thug Juice (kinda like Solar flare but milder + a gangster flavor(?)) and a mix of Blu-bacco/Extreme Ice (Blue Berry with a nice cool menthol flavor)....
Maintenance... There is an element in the tank called a atomizer that heats up the liquid to vaporize it, these things go out and start to make the vapor taste bad or loose flavor. I think I usually get maybe 3 weeks +/- a week on one. They cost 10 bucks for 5 - cheap stuff. You can make your own too which I'll start to do sometime... I've heard the batteries do go bad eventually, I've used mine for 4 months no problems...
There is a lot of information on the internet if you're interested.
Reviews of the ecigs, about the 'lifestyle of vaping" and the liquids that you can buy. Good articles, good reviews and an entertaining read.

This is the kit that I got, you can get setup for about half that price but I'd say have two batteries because the batteries don't last quite a full day (650mah) especially if your just quitting. I'd vape continuously the first few weeks but I've cut back a lot now...

I bought a lot of liquids from different sites but the 'local' place has THE best liquids I've tried out of the half dozen sites I've bought from. Their located in B'ham... I lived in Bellingham, Wa for a few years and I'm back in AK now...

Questions? Comments? Let me know. I feel a whole lot healthier now not sucking down that smoke all the time and people can't tell that I still 'smoke'... I've converted a lot of friends and their parents over to the eGo's.
On a side note, I think the ecigs with nicotine maybe illegal in Canada and all around illegal in about 10 countries - but we're all right at the moment in the US of A... These things have been out for years and there have been no reported ill effects...
