What's a fair price for a used 2008 WRR?

Say in mint condition, new tires, around 5,000 mostly street miles. Kelly BB says retail, excellent condition, $3,285. NADA says average retail, around $3,800. The asking prices on Craigslist that I see are way more than that. Are guys getting asking price for these bikes? What should a low milage, 5 year old, stock, mint condition WR250R go for?

Personally, I feel that anything over $3,500 is getting into the ol' I-Got-$$$-Into-It-And-I-Want-To-Get-All-Of-That-$$$-Back.

I'm going to look at a bike today. Anything special I should be looking for? This bike has supposedly been ridden in town, and has no mods.

Some 2008's had fuel pump issues. Not all. Mine doesn't. Some do.
Unfortunately there's no good way to find out if the one you're looking at has a good pump or a bad pump.

It may be a potential bargaining tool for you though.

A lot depends on how bad you want that particular bike, and how "mint" it actually is.

5000 miles is just broken in.

For reference, in 2009 I paid $4000 cash for a 2008 250x that only had 320 miles on it.

I can't imagine paying more than $3500 for a 2008 - but if the only other option is a new one for well over $6K, then a hundred or two more might be reasonable.

How often do you find used 250r's for sale in your area?

FYI, My pal just sold his bone stock '08 here in Cali last week for $3500.

I bought my 2008 last August on Craig's List for $3400 with 600 miles on it. All stock with the only addition being some Zeta Bark Busters. Most of the WR250Rs in my area (Seattle) list for $4500+ so I jumped on this one when I saw it.

With regular payment I only owe 4k on my bike I bought a year and a half ago (leftover 09). Wonder if I could sell it for what I owe on it.

Wouldn't that depend on the condition(been riding the rock piles), mileage, and farkles. If the bike was nice and had the farkels I would buy anyway, It should bring 4k.

Well, I bought the bike. 4k, but I swear it looks like new. It was only ridden on road and was kept in great shape. 5,100 mi. Got him to throw in a set of new Bridgestones still in the wrapper for $100 more. So 4,100 total. I'm happy.

I just paid $3900. for an immaculate 09 with 900 miles. Although everything here in the Northeast costs more than it should, being spotless & almost new, I still feel like I got a good deal.
