2008 used price

Good evening, I'm looking at buying a used wr250x as my first bike. My concern with the bike I'm looking at is the mileage . The bike currently has 25900 miles. The bike comes with aftermarket hand guards, aluminum handlebar and exhaust (not sure of brand). My concern is the cost of the bike at $3900. Am I incorrect? I do not know the service history, but plan to ask. The bike seems to be quick and moved the owner quickly down the road. I weigh 160 to his 270. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. A few months ago I purchased a 2008 WR250R with 2200 miles on the clock, hand guards, and bash plate for $3800. The bike was in Phoenix AZ and it was cold weather (45deg F) for all the desert southwest locals. I weighed 245 with gear 2 months ago and was able to hang with traffic on the SoCal freeways at 70-75. Easier on me and more comfortable at 60-65 and seems like it could do that all day long. I think that the price is high for that mileage but if it is spring riding season where you are the prices may be higher.

Every area is different when it comes to pricing. I bought a bone stock 2008 with only 189 miles on March 4th and I paid $3000. He was asking $3500.

I bought my mostly stock 2008 with 6k miles for $3,400 over a year ago.

I would say $3K would be a fair price with that mileage and mods for my area and because of the miles he'd probably sit on it for a month to find the right buyer. $2,700 would sell in 1-2 weeks probably.

They're selling at 25,900 miles so they don't have to do the 26,000 mile valve job. These bikes get offered for right around $4000 everywhere with a lot less mileage on them. If I were looking at that bike, I'd offer him a little less, but make him pay for a mechanic to do the full 26,000 mile service. Or do it yourself and offer a lot less (under $3500).

If he has proof of all the maintenance done and the like looks like it was well taken care of I wouldn't pay more than 2800. If not then just walk away. Oh and I would also tell him to have the valves checked on his dime since it needs done.

'08 X, bought last fall, in Wisconsin, 178 miles, 100% stock. $4,000

I may have found cheaper with fancy pipes and stuff on it. But my thought was, it's a "new" bike. Not beat (knew PO). In 5-7 years it wont matter if its an '08 or a '11.

I always have luck at Harley Dealers. They take trade ins and don't care about anything other than Harley's! Last month I drove 4 hrs to a Harley Dealer that listed a stock WR250r with 1200 miles for $2500 on Cycletrader. It actually was set to km so it was really 871 miles. I have since spent $1500 in mods.
