| Let us know if you get some discoloration on the headlight glass after a while. Mine is slightly discolored along the top half. I have yet to take it apart and see if I can clean it. I have the 55w version and my highbeam stopped working within a couple months. | |

| There is discoloration behind the headlight, bottom right of the picture below and a tiny spec above the "motorcycle" label, which can't really be seen in the picture, before the hid bulb was installed. | |

| Interesting. Mine came with a shield for the bulb, which would retract with a flick of the high beam switch. It only served to direct light to another part of the reflector to throw light further. At any rate mine stopped working about a month after I installed it, and as of last night the HID is completely dead. It tries to ignite but fails every time. I threw my stock bulb back in until I figure out what to do.
As for the discoloration, mine wiped away. Once I took out the bulb and the bulb base (held in with two small phillips head screws)I was able to get a rag in there and wipe it clean. What I find really interesting is that the film on the inside reappeared in less than a months time. My HID seemed to be getting dimmer as time went by as well. I wonder if the film and the demise of my HID are related...?

| IMO DDM stuff is junk nowadays, especially their bulbs. They used to be better back in the day when they still shipped HIDs out of San Diego and had some sort of quality control. Now they ship from China.
E36 M3 headlights were junk, they leaked and fogged up and getting them to replace it ended up in a paypal claim battle.
I purchased 3 sets of 55w last year for 2 bikes and my gfs car and the bulbs all died within months. This is including the telescopic (high/low) bulbs. Good luck trying to contact them about their "lifetime warranty"... my attempts were fruitless.

| Good to know. Thanks for the info.
I went ahead and just ordered a PIAA "Night Tech" bulb and called it good. No more messing with HID for this guy, though I did like the light output.

| They changed the design because I ordered the exact same ddm kit a few years ago and the bulb had a protective casing, unlike the one I have now. The previous kit's bulb did go out on me but they honored their lifetime warranty and exchanged the bulb. | |

| I have one of the PIAA bulbs in mine as well, its the 55w=100w on high beam one, I forget the name of it, its 30-50% brighter than stock, theres quite a notiable improvment with no modding anything. I had it in my KLR for 5 years before I got the WRR, low beam finaly burned out tho. The WRR/WRX takes a H4 bulb, the same as alot of cars, you can pick up much brigher bulbs quite cheaply, theres a ton of them to pick from. | |

| This is the bulb. I'm content with it. It's not as bright as the HID was, but the pattern is better. For whatever reason the pattern with the HID in there was pretty bad. I haven't had the stock bulb in there for a couple years now so I'm not sure how they compare. I might swap back just to compare though. | |
