HDB bars are super cool for the folding mirrors, but Cycras are nigh invincible in crashes. The triple tree mounting combined with the down-curved bar makes them super tough and more protective in a crash. I highsided and lowsided on pavement in the same day, both on the left, and the bar suffered minimal damage. It bent at the mounting point a teeny bit, which I fixed with a vice and hammer. I have since gone down a handful more - 35mph on grass, 1-10 mph in dirt, looped, crashed down a staircase, and a couple stationary drops - and although they are really beat up, the bars are still solid.
The down curve protects the levers, which I have rotated downwards for riding standing up, and it also protects the rest of the bike a bit better than "straight" bars because it hits the ground sooner. Two of my friends have "straight" bars (MSR and Acerbis) and if they go down a little too hard, the mount rotates on the handlebar, the whole assembly twists up, and levers bend. Cycra can do that too, but they are tougher.
The FastWay bars look like they have all the same qualities of the Cycras! The crossbar design might even be more sturdy, as it absorbs the force in a more natural direction.
