Headlight is attached to shroud.

Two bolts up high, one on either side of headlight. Look for shroud extensions that lead towards handlebars.

Once you remove those two bolts completely, the light lifts up and out of two rubber grommets on top of fender.
Takes a decent amount of force to pop out of grommets.

That's about it.

Easy.

:hmmm: scratch

There's not one single piece of plastic on my X that can be popped off without needing to use at least one tool on one fastener.

Are you asking about removing just the plastic shroud around the headlight, or are you asking about removing the actual headlight itself? Or maybe just getting at the headlight bulb?

The headlight assembly is attached to the plastic shroud via two long adjustment screws, and a rubber grommet.

The shroud is attached to motorcycle frame via two bolts (one on each side) up by turn signal stalks, and two posts through two rubber grommets on top of front fender.

To get to light bulb you need to take front shroud off, but not remove entire headlight assembly.

Some things are obvious..... poser2

Remember the front fender is attached and the headlight screws are spring loaded.

Thread Revival!!! wings
I'm looking to take apart my headlight assmbly for painting. Do I just unscrew those two horizontal screws on either side (bottom) of light all the way til they're out? Or does it come apart differently? I wanna be sure I reassemble properly, you know

Thanks!
