new member PNW(washington)

Howdy all,
Experienced but younger rider here from Washington state Vancouver/portland area if it helps. About to get his first REAL street able MC, so far I am in love with wr250 want a wr250, and I'm going to get a wr250!...soon. I am looking at used machines under $4k really would like to here any thoughts on R vs X and is the x worth the mark up i see? Also seriously considering a branded title R (cosmetic damage) nearby, thoughts much appreciated? Bike will be most likely be 80-90% street but already really excited about planning solo camping trips and runs to the national forest.
