Anyone running the stock pipe with the exhaust flapper removed and airbox flapper open? I am currently and just ordered a FMF programmer and want to know if anyone has/is doing this. I know there is a little more to gain with a new headpipe and muffler but Im enjoying the quiet for now. I also have the block off plate for the emissions too.

I am currently running my WRR with the Ultimate Airbox mod (no flapper and interior cleaned up a bit), The exhaust flapper (EXUP) removed with the stock pipe and muffler.

I have a PCV tuner and am currently running their map for a stock bike. Very happy with the performance so far.

That being said I think you money is much better spent on getting the suspension setup and dialed in for your weight and riding style. I had Go-Race do mine and I wish I would have done that first before messing with all the engine performance mods.

So
I added the FMF PP and put i 2, 3, .5, 8, 6, 4 and it runs pretty good. I have the flapper glues down and eliminated the exhaust valve in the pipe. I wonder if I should back down some of the settings? I might put the FMF pP back to stock settings and try it there. Its been pretty shitty here in Michigan to really test the bike and the settings.

I have a Q4 pipe with a very open airbox, I cut a 2.5 by 2.5 hole above the filter plus did a slightly different much easier version of the ultimate airbox mod.

I run 3,2,.5,8,6,4 in my fmf programmer.

I had the second # higher at first but backed it down .5 at a time untill the bike ran its best, which was at 2.

If you want to open up the airbox more just take a hammer and punch and drive the flapper straight down into the airbox, the whole flapper peice will fall into the airbox, its like doing the ultimate airbox mod but it takes 2 minutes instead of an hour.

Ok I tried these settings and it runs great up on the top end but still has that damn off idle twitchyness I am trying to get rid of. That on off throttle abruptness is very annoying. I wonder if because I left my CO setting still at 6 it is having so contributing factor? I need some time to mess with the FMF but haven't had a moment to in Florida and we head back to 20 deg in Michigan tomorrow.

I bumped up the idle speed and co setting to fix the off idle jerkyness.

My bike idles at 1900-2000 rpm and the co is around 6, I forget exactly wheres its set.

The fmf programmer isnt doing much just off idle, thats mostly the co and idle speed, bumping the idle up makes it smoother just off idle.

Some guys tweak the tps too but I was happy with my set up.
