Kenda k760 ? Anyone?

Use this tire? How does it compare to the dunlop 606 in the dirt, mud, and ruts? And Im not sure what size tire to get because I don't see a listing for our stock tire size?

It's similar to the C16 I currently run. It's better offroad IMO than the 606, but the 606 kicks its pants on wear. The 606 isn't a slouch by any means, but it's not as aggressive. The Trackmaster II has the identical tread pattern of the C16.

I run the 760 in the rear and the 775 washagol for the front (760 front suck IMO).
I've run the 110 rear which is slightly wider than the stock trail wings (bigger nobs). Order some 100's for next time.
The price is very good on these - throw a set of hd tubes and your all set!

I'm going to run the 100/100-18 760 and 80/100-21 775's. You really can't go wrong with this combo IMO (performance/price/wear).

My current 110/100-18 760'rear is slightly wider than the stock 120'trail wing. The extra weight with
Lugs do hurt the little engine. With a slightly narrower and lighter tire / rotating mass - should preform a little better

Hmm...can't say the wider tire affected the little engine on mine. It sure bit in and spat shit out! Maybe that plus the weight of the rider might have something to do with it all, I dunno. All I know is that the wider tire on the back didn't bog down the mighty powerplant shoved between my legs. I've got the 110/100/18 on the back and 90/90/21 on the front.

I did notice a reduction in top speed and acceleration with the nobby tire - and a slightly lighter tire I believe will help restore some of that back.
I actually just order two rears and one front from rocky mountain - as I'm heading to the states soon and will pick them up at a depot. No HST or tire disposal fee - plus cheaper with can $ and no shipping with orders over $99 :)

Some days I wish I was over 6' and 210 lbs. I think the only bad thing I can say about that breed of tire was the painful wear on the pavement. At first it seemed to do about even with the 606 but as soon as the tarmac got really hot it started to show. I'm at about 3/4 gone on the rear, and just under half on the front. I'm contemplating trying the MX71's or the Scorpion Pro's. I love doing tire testing. I still have a new rear 606 and a C17 in the carport but I want to try others and see. From the feedback I've gotten from area riders and the writeup done, the Scorpion Pro is the most aggressive, best wearing DOT tire out there right now. Might just have to put that to the test.

How is the bike going to be on the road and highway with a k760 in the rear a 775 in the front?

The bike is still very smooth with these tires on it. I commute 31km each way to work and back no problem on 80km/hr roads (usually doing 100km/hr). Back roads/dirt roads I'm usually full out!
They are no trail wings on the high way/asphalt - but if you do any mudding or sand - the death wings suck.
For extended highway use I'm sure they may wear out quicker if it gets too hot.
You won't be putting your knee down in a corner with them - but that is not what they are meant for.

I dislike the k760 personally. If I lived somewhere with mostly soft terrain maybe, but I found it to not reaally get grip on rocks, roots, or even gravely hardpack and it wandered and squirmed a lot on pavement. Drives like a tractor insoft stuff though. Wear was satisfactory for me, got about 3000 miles I think and it was still ok-ish but Im easy on tires.

ecarnel what do you run for air pressure? Got the tires and really like them in the dirt, front seems a litle sketchy on cracked pavement but its all good.

Really all depends on your terrain and pavement you are running. I typically run 15 front and rear. Reasonable balance between street and off road. I would start there and play with the front if increasing helps and makes the front feel more comfortable.
Remember the front tire is way more aggressive than almost any stock tire sold on a street legal dirt bike- so there is a compromise.

FWIW, I have ran a pair of the 760's front and rear on my R2 for the last 3500+ miles. The rear is dead now, the front has about 40-50% left in it. While there isn't any different sizes available for the front tire, I went with a 120 on the rear. Now that it is worn out, I am going to put a 110 on it. The size differences (lugs, width, weight) between the 110 and 120 are pretty dramatic; and for this tire, and on this bike the weight effects are noticable. I am 6'0, 205-210# depending. Here is some of my reviews for it in both offroad and onroad situations.

Offroad: this is where the tires are happy.

Single track= I found the tire to have a suprising amount of bite on all dirt (hard, soft, dry, wet) and vegetation normally found on the trails. The rear has a very predictable, easy to control slide aspect. The front is suprisingly stable and does not wash out much, unless pushed; when it does it goes quick but if the dirt is decent it's pretty easy to get it back in shape. Both ends can be pretty slippery on wet roots or action sticks; but they track well on rocks (either wet or dry). Handles mud pretty well as they clean themselves off pretty quickly. Overall a very capable tire in the dirt; suprisingly I found them to have similar characteristics to the S12's that I would run on my old 05 YZ450F, except that the diagonal lugs on the front of the S12's made it easier to control the front in a deep/fast drift.

Gravel/Fire roads= Front and rear tires provided good grip and were quite confidence inspiring on gravel/hard pack fire roads and such. The rear was very easy to control on slides and the front tended to track well. I found myself needing to stand more on the high speed turns, and if sitting I would need to get the weight on the high side a bit more than I'd like to keep the front feeling planted. I find this a hard area to review, as much of a person's speed and safety is based on their confidence and technique in the gravel.

Water obstacles= In slow crossings both tires did well; very grippy and would hold rock edges well. Fast crossings; well bout the same as any offroad tire I guess... get the front up and keep moving... if the front end drops and it's deep the front tends to start planing pretty good, but once it drops it can deflect pretty bad sometimes.

On road: this is where the tires start to show their compromises.

dry: Pretty smooth ride, with decent grip for a knobbie tire. I wouldn't suggest pushing it too hard as the front seems to want to start pushing out before the rear breaks loose. Deeper lean angles can be had with confidence, for a knobbie. Not too noisy (I wasn't able to hear them over the bike). They go down the highway alright; but not really great. They would track the cracks or grooves quite a bit; and when the bike was packed down they would want to shimmy back and forth (like on grooved pavement). Cornering is fine; just remember that you are on knobbies. I never had any issues on extended 70mph freeway riding.

wet: Like any knobbie tire, these do not inspire much confidence in very wet weather. That being said, I never had to drop below the main speed limit (not those silly yellow caution suggested speed sign garbage) on any corners; either city roads, twisty mountain roads, or freeways. The tires were able to get me through standing water, pouring rain, snow, and everything else Washington winters like to send (see more rain) my way; without incident or concern. This is both rider-only and rider + camping gear.

Overall I think that these are some great tires for those who do more dirt than road; or when they are on the dirt they are pushing the bike on technical trail work. They are not too noisy, they handle good enough on the road to travel safetly at a decent speed, and they are fantastic in the dirt. I thought that the tire life was acceptable for the amount of performance that they gave me; as I said just over 3500 miles with them till dead. The 120mm rear works very well, but it is heavy and overkill for the bike. I am going with a 110mm on the rear to get a bit of power back; as when I swapped from the stock Deathwing to these it made a very noticable difference in power output. I like their performance over the 606's in the northwet trails, but I did think that the 606's offered better ride on the road (had them on a xr650r) in both wet and dry conditions. Hope this helps; but then again it is a tire thread....

Tire sizing confuses me a bit.

I'm a short ass ..like hobbit sized..but i liked the 760's on my klx250s.

I just got a wr250r and want to throw 760's on it but am not sure what would be better ...a 100/100 or a 120/100.

100/100 = 100mm high? 120/80 = 96mm high?

I'll have to go home and look at my bike to confirm but I'm 99% sure both will work, the 120 will just be wider/taller and is a fair bit easier to mount.  Myself and my fellow WR riders have both sizes among us just by accident.  Bug me if you don't figure it out and I'll confirm.

The 100/100 is really close to the same size as the stock tire, I ran a 760 in this size, I liked it, it worked well off road and lasted 4000kms with quite a bit of road riding, it still had a 1/4 inch of tread when I replaced it as it sucked off road at this point.
The 110/100 is just a bit bigger both in height and width, it also has slightly taller tread, my neighbor has this size 760 on his wrr.
If I was buying another 760 it would be the 110 so I got more tread height which will make it last longer too.

Don't get the 120/100, its way bigger than stock, I'd only run it on a 450 or bigger bike.

Also the front 760 blows, it has the same tread pattern as the rear and slides sideways way too easy on hard slick dirt, any other kenda front tire for dirt works better and they're all dot.

I keep going back to the trackmaster 110/100 and I use it on all my dirt bikes now, its works great on south jersey sand but wears a little fast on the road, its $54 at my door, enough said, on the front go with the kenda washougal, its DOT and wears very good and sticks good, for my dual sport riding I use kenda k270 rear and pirelli mt21 front, tired of buying expensive Dunlop knobs that keep chunking or ripping knobs off

I figured I'd add my experience in here. I've ran stock tires and the d606/mt21 combo.

I've had a set a trackmaster II's on for a month or so.

I got the 110/100 rear, which measures about the same as the 120/90 d606. The knobs are further apart/skinnier. I get a lot more grip off the rear compared to the stock or d606 as far as things go off road so far. Even a wheelie on dry grass with the d606 would tear up the grass a bit, but not with the kenda 760. I like the way it feels on gravel. On pavement the d606 would kick out sometimes, but it was often unpredictable. It'd handle one corner fine in second with throttle, and swing out on another without feedback that it was coming. The 760 can take them about the same speed, and will kick out, but it lets me know. I can feel if it's going to and decide to give a little more throttle or back off a hair, instead of dealing with the rear kicking out after it happens. At first I thought it would slip out easier, but seems to be better at giving me feedback, rather than just slipping out occasionally.

The front handles fine so far. I am still getting more deflection than I got with the mt21, but I adjusted my tire pressure and fork clickers to counter the deflection I got from the mt21 when I started running it. It's unfair to say I won't be able to get the 760 front to also stop deflecting. Could just be a couple psi down on tire pressure. I do hate the way my mt21 wore down. It lasted decent, but one knob was wore all the way down and the next was barley wore down at all.

Depending on how things last I will probably keep running these. I don't think I'll go back to the d606/mt21 combo at least. Factoring in cost I could replace them twice as often for about the same money. There are other tires I still want to try, but the kendas are beating the d606/mt21 combo in my book.
