Which model to buy - 2008 or 2009?

Hi. I am looking for new WR250R bike. Are there any major differences between model 08 and 09. I locate dealer who offers me 08 for prize about 680$ lower. Is it good choice to buy 2008 now?

There aren't any major differences with the 08/09. If you can still get an 08 at a decent price, you'll have a good bike.

I have also red previos threads where someone wrote about the difference in graphic design. Is it related only to the stickers or to chasis color? I found some pictures on the web, but any accurate
pict from which I have been able to recognize accurate color tint (in case of the blue version). Has anybody seen both models side by side?

And what about ECU, is it identical?

Well, the graphics are different. The only way you can get a black chassis is if you get one from the UK, or buy a converted X. All the spec R²'s in NA are all silver chassis. The ECU's share the same part numbers. The rear sprockets are different, but only in the sense that the 09 doesn't have that stupid rubber ring on it. I don't know why, but mine seems to get a bit more top end than the 08's from what I've seen and heard. Not sure what else I can tell you...there was a pic posted somewhere where a couple of guys rode two R²'s and they were sitting side by side, an 08 and an 09. Damn if I can recall who was the poster and where I saw that pic, if it was on ADV or TT. I tried to do a search and gave myself a headache looking because there are just so many pics!!!
