| Taoshum and Boondocker seem to very much opposed to a 450r/x. (can you tell I like stirring the pot) _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| If I went for a 4-5-0 street legal Sumo it better be sub 300 lbs with gas. My 625 SMC weighs in at about 3 bucks and it feels like a pig compared to the ~250 lb CRFx.
...otherwise I'd just go for a hypermotard or an HP2.
What would REALLY be killer is that 350 2-stroke Banshee engine in a motard.

| Sub-350lbs was being generous. Or, trying not to be too greedy.
Sub 300??? The wr250x is right at 300 pounds.
Adding 200cc's and the stuff that would go along with it (wider wheels, stiffer frame, suspension?)...I figured that'd add at least 20 pounds to what the wr250x weighs in at. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

(can you tell I like stirring the pot) The post about the next "logical" engine size, if it goes up, being a R1 X's 0.5 or a 500cc twin, makes perfect sense to me! I just never thought of it before. If they stick the WR450 engine into a WRR, which is what I think lots of people say they want, I wouldn't buy it based on what I now know about the WRR engine... being a R1 X's 0.25. Yammie Mammie's PR machine must be broken or they would be telling us about this instead of the current theme, IMHO.

| Generous, or greedy... However you'd like to look at it.
Sub 300 lbs. Sure.... Why not ? As an example the 2010 530EXC is advertised at 251 lbs dry
Even if fitted with SuMo shoes it's not going to add 50 lbs to the bike (or even 35lbs if you add ~16 lbs for the weight of fuel).
P.S. I looked, my SMC is an advertised 321. Doesn't feel like it with over 50HP and ft lbs of torque. ...but at that, the scoot could be retro'd with dirt shoes and it'd be close to the 300 lb mark. That's also with a steel frame.
My YZF-R1, also by comparison, is a claimed what, 385lbs dry ? Something like...

| Is the 2010 530 EXC a SUMO? Isn't the price tag for that just under $10,000 ?? But yeah....I'd cream over a 450cc, or 500cc twin SUMO from Yamaha that's under 300 pounds, makes 45-50 hp at the rear wheel, and doesn't cost a fortune to purchase. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| Stock, the EXC is not dressed/does not come in SuMo attire, so you get wheels, or if not legal you find a bike and make it that way (if posssible).
Cost doesn't make the WRR/X heavier - Design engineering does. Either way, my point i there are sub 300 lb solutions posssible.
Look at the RCV Aprillia as an other example. I don't know all the details about the bike, but there's a 550 that's a gunslinger in either SuMo, or Enduro attire.
