Since I didn't get any news about the inquiries i placed for a rear rack, Me and a friend made one so it was ready for next week when I leave on the mega trip. Also made a bracket to push the bag off the exaust inspired by HighFive's.

Started off drilling holes:

Then Made this part, with a steel tube, a washer , a nut and a bolt all soldered together. This is the rough version before polished, cleaned and painted.

All 4 of that part done:

Assembling the Rack cutted out of aluminum, polished and painted with a clear

Painted the mounting black and just put clear on the rack... Looks ok. It's not as great looking as the ones ppl are buying around here but it was about 45$ + a pizza to make :)

Finished product with Bracket for bags:

Nice job. I like the rack a lot.

It looks pretty thin though. I might have gone with quarter inch aluminum.

The shape is attractive. Let us know how it holds up.

Did you weld or solder the bolt\nut\spacer? Reason I ask is that it looks like you have a mount for a fuel tank (kolpec or similar). If you are going offroad my experience says that the up and down motion of 2 gallons of gas will place a real load on those joints.

It's welded. (Before 5mins ago I wasn't aware those had 2 meanings.)

Also, I'm putting a 1gal Rotopax on there and a two place tent in a dry bag.

It's a 1/4 inch Picture might not make it as obvious.
