its not important if you have an after market exhaust fitted...

i junked mine, opened the airbox up,

I also ripped the top of my air box off rather than just gluing the flapper open.

I also removed the exhaust restrictor solenoid thing (I forget the name) because I put on an FMF pipe.

Might be a good idea to save all the parts you take off as things may change such that you need them one day.

yeah i have all the spare parts on a box but after doing some reading yest i got a good idea of what i can rip off and what to leave


when you ripped the top of the air box off did you have to run more fuel ?

I put on a programmer and FMF after that so I am running more fuel, but only a little. It seems to run fin and not too lean or sooty over most of the range just above factory settings.
It felt torquier with the box opened up but louder too. Not too bad for noise on part throttle but I can really get a car's attention when I open it up.
