Modded whale tail

Guess next time I come up I'll have to get you to show me that banana hammock.

How's the modded tail holding up these days? I still haven't gotten around to doing anything with mine, but noticed while cleaning it up after a day on some really nasty muddy trails that the wiring wrap has chafed through at the taillight and I think I might cut it down while it's apart......wondering how the license plate light is holding out on those standoffs with all the bouncing around off road?

I don't think he's been out riding much. I haven't seen/heard from him since I ran into him when I got my suspension done, and he didn't have it plated at that time.

Hmm, not riding = not good. Sorry to hear that......on the plus side, I now have all the aluminum I need for the plate bracket, found a box of street signs from an old job gathering cobwebs in the office .

i modded mine and put the clear alternatives integrated turn signals taillight in mine. very bright.

mt90at, 120/80/18. great street tire. works very well on pavement, wet or dry. used it for a "road" trip.

I also did the whale tail delete yesterday. I used custom made brackets because I didn't want to cut up the stock plastic so I can reverse the mod.

Here is my version. Bought LEDs through D2MOTO and bend a bracket and here's the result

Mine involved no custom brackets at all. Just cutting and drilling two new holes for the licence plate...



Although now I love a dedicated license plate light, I think the tail light should light it up enough to see it.
