Just wondering what everyone preferred to use when replacing, breaking, etc. their chains. Are you using a Kit you found somewhere? What kind of press, breaker, etc are you using?

I'm looking for some new tools and want to hear your reviews.

RK Chain tool is one of the best you can get.

https://www.vortexracing.com/shop/product/17865/1676/

I can get you one at a good price if interested.

Also - Cycle Gear sells one similar.

http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=5007&L2=31&L3=7001&L4=&item=PRC_L35-247&name=STOCKTON_TOOL_COMPANY_Chain_Breaker_and_Rivet_Tool_Kit

Not the same quality and im not sure if you can buy parts individual like the RK one...but same design.

I use the stockton Cycle gear chain tool posted in the other reply. I have had good results with it for the last couple of years. I would recommend it, and cycle gear usually has some coupon or sale going on for this type of stuff.

4" angle grinder, a punch, a vise, and a hammer... nothing special.

Master link and a small pair of slip joint pliers. They look shockingly like the ones that came in the stock tool kit.

A cutting wheel on a Dremel is fast and easy.

You'd be amazed how much quicker(and cleaner) it is to actually push the pin through a chain with the correct tool.

Then again the wrx is my first bike with a clip link - everything else I have to have a chain tool so I'm used to it.

I'd get the stockton one from cycle gear if you're on a budget - just my $.02

I have used this on on my street bike and my WRr have had good luck with it. However it has started to bend so I unfortunatly got what I paid for. But for a tool I may never use again anyway it is cheap and works.

Motion Pro Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool...works on bigger chains found on sport bikes and some touring bikes, also.
