what is the prevailing theory for how open we can go with our airboxes with a full aftermarket exhaust (FMF) and a fuel programmer to compensate?

mine is mildly open but i am wondering if i should open it farther...

No airbox door is perfectly fine. Some say it's too loud, but I don't think so. Very happy

What exactly are you wishing to do?

I've seen one bike with no airbox at all.

i have no airbox door and there is about a 2"x1/2" hole already. i was playing with more fuel last night via the programmer since i just installed a powerbomb+Q4. it got me wondering if i should be adding more air as well.

I don't understand what you mean?

Can you post pictures?

Is the hole you describe cut in the side panel that covers the airbox? Is that what you mean?

you can see the snorkel is gone, the flapper is taped back and there is an additional hole in the airbox by the filter.

good point. i guess if an airbox is not pressurized, it's only limiting. everything else is dust and H20 control.

Stop when you start sucking in low flying geese and/or dirt clods.
