Best Programmer for the GYTR Slip-on Exhaust? Empty
PostSubject: Best Programmer for the GYTR Slip-on Exhaust?   Best Programmer for the GYTR Slip-on Exhaust? EmptyMon May 07, 2012 11:51 am

I'm looking at a GYTR Slip-on Exhaust for a 08 WR250R and was wondering from experience what's the preferred FI programmer to get?

How noticable is the combo of the 2 from a seat of the pants perspective?

I've recently ridden a friends 08 w/ a GYTR exhaust but it did not have an FI programmer on it. I can say that it was noticable on the low end where you did not have to rev it as high taking off and seemed to pull a bit stronger and smoother from the bottom to top of the range. The DB was a louder and had a destinctive sound to it as compared to stock.

Was wondering if a FI programmer will enhance the overall performance of the WR w/ a GYTR Slip-on Exhaust? Is it a night and day difference or more of a minor improvement?

thx

No programmer is specifically designed for any specific exhaust.

Get the one you want, or the one you can afford...you'll be happy.

The "ultimate" setup would be the PCV with the Autotune and some professional dyno time.

But an FmF or Attitude Industries unit will work just fine too.

Oh....and you'll maybe get a few horsepower out of things.

What the programmer really does is allow you to open intake and exhaust (which gives you more power) and prevent the engine from running too lean.

The programmer will smooth out some sections in the rpm range too.

No - you won't get your arms pulled out of their sockets by adding a programmer.
