Sub Frame differences between years? Empty
PostSubject: Sub Frame differences between years?   Sub Frame differences between years? EmptySat Sep 15, 2012 2:47 pm

Hi guys, first post here. Just picked up 08 WR250X and am sure I will have more questions coming, but first one is

Is there a difference in sub frames from '08 to '09? Part numbers are different on the fiches.

PO cut off helmet lock bar, tool kit mount, and passenger peg mount. I guess for a clean look and weight loss? Thought it might be easier to replace sub frame as opposed to having welding done on it. All I really need is a connection point for wolfman side mounts.

thanks

Not aware of any changes between 2008 and 2013 to any parts of the bikes.

Other than colors of plastics, all parts should be interchangeable.

There are a few differences between the X and the R on things like the wheels and front brakes.

There are frame color differences between the X and R.

Maybe that's what the part number difference reflects?

You could be correct there, maybe just the color difference, didn't think of that.

Perfect, great link. May consider getting an 09 sub frame thats available and just switching it out.

Thanks

Sub frames switched out. A little tricky with all the wires and airbox, but done in maybe 3 hours taking it slow.

Looks like I will have a 'modified' sub frame going up for sale (no right side passener peg bracket, tool box pegs or helmet lock bar, clean look).
