Wr250x Odometer backlight not working

Hey guys my 2009 wr250x odometer does not have a backlight like i have noticed on videos and in pictures. Is there a setting to turn it on and off or is it just broken? Can you even replace an odometer? I bought the bike used and did not notice at first. Your help would be appreciated

Back-light seems to be permanent but visible only at the dark. There are no special setting for it so you can try to open it and inspect. If you break it completely - anyway it doesn't work as expected
