Yes - they've been around for a while.

You got a few grand to spend?

Don't ever drop a turbo fitted bike on the throttle side. eeek

Not sure about what those kits do to engine life or maintenance schedules but I'm sure it shortens things substantially.

Use the search feature....there's threads around here, plus videos.

I think there is nothing wrong about thinking of getting a turbo or getting one. but it all depends on the reasons in my opinion.

Do you want the turbo because you want more power? then you probably should've gotten a different bike like Husky or KTM.

Do you want a turbo because you want to mess around with the bike, have fun assembling, project bike / weekend project stuff? sure, why not!

if it's for the first reason, I think you would've been off better with a different bike which has more power to begin with. more practicality, less complex than a turbo kit.

if it's for the second reason, or you just fancy a turbo bike, go ahead. whatever floats your boat thumb

I was thinking...

"whoa boy....there's a bank account that's gonna be taking a HUGE hit if a guy, who's bought a brand new bike and hasn't even taken delivery of it, is already looking at turbos...."

These turbo kits are very well designed and thought out, if you did drop your bike and the turbo touched the ground you are not riding it home.. Because your bars are bent to shit and your forks are probably twisted, the turbo barely hangs out passed the front pegs.
As for reliable and maintance that's all up to the owner. He sends it with a base tune, if you don't get it tuned or atleast get a wideband to watch your air/fuel you could be in trouble. Lean conditions are what kill these motors properly set up they've logged almost 10k miles on boost and still going..
