Brutal Ice Hockey Hit

Any fans of ice hockey want to chime in on last nights devastating and crushing hit in the Sens-Habs game?

Dirty hit? Worthy of suspension? Fines?

Or a clean hit with brutal results?

From the replays I've seen, I have to say it was a clean hit. Reminds me of the Stevenson-Lindross hit many years ago.

Not sure I agree with this ruling.

I don't follow hockey anymore, but have been a habs fan since I realized it was my grand dad's team.

After reviewing the hit...it just looked like part of the game, no mal intent.
He got caught off balance and soaked it up hard.

He was caught being the recipient of a shitty pass.

On another forum people are claiming the NHL is favoring the Habs as their darlings.

This ruling might be proof such favoritism might be in the works.

It was just brutal, and getting extra attention accordingly.
The sober review will come out.

I think most of the facial damage was caused by his face hitting the ice and not the hit by Gryba.

In the replay you can see Gryba did not leave his feet, or "target" Eller's head with an elbow or shoulder.

Somehow the NHL decided a two game suspension was warranted.

I wonder if that's simply to try to defuse a possible rumble in the jungle.

I'm sure the initial reaction is with revenue as top priority.
