| Newby.......how do you get on a WR when the rear is packed with luggage; no swinging my leg over/around the pile of luggage! | |

| You should be able to bend your knee enough (heal retracted to your butt) to clear the luggage. Bring your knee over & then extend your leg. If you can't make that work for you, the side stand is strong enough to step up on the left peg & then swing your leg over. | |

| As I have gotten older and less flexible.. damn I hate when that happens, I started using a different method to get on a loaded bike.
Hard to describe but here it goes.
Standing on the LH (Clutch side) of the bike turn your back to the bike and grab the LH handle bar with your right hand.
Bending over at the waist a little raise your right leg and extend you right foot over the seat.
Step/hop back and twist to your right to mount the bike.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yoga is a good thing to do and will really help. I use to do it all the time but then they paid me and my tights to stay away and with that extra cash I was able to buy my WRR.

| I have a hard time mounting the bike when its not loaded... Not as limber as I use to be and I'm only 39.
I step on the peg with the stand down when I can!

| Vertically challenged, I can get on unloaded unless I do it cowboy style. Motor running, clutch in, first gear, left foot on peg, find friction point, slowly take off stepping up and swinging leg over, cowboy style | |

| I'm 64+, 5'9, 30" inseam. No problems getting on this bike whether it's empty or loaded. I either stand on the left peg and swing my leg over, or, more commonly, face the bike from the left side, reach down, grab the bottom of my right pant leg, and hoist my leg over. Easy-peasy. The biggest impediment is usually that my pants are too tight :-) But I'm in reasonably good shape and have worked on remaining fairly flexible my entire life. I'm convinced that flexibility has saved me from serious injury several times over the years. | |

| I can get on it, cowboy style, when it's "skinny", but loaded with tent, sleeping bag and a drybag or two it gets mighty high on the rear end. I'm gonna try a couple of the aforementioned suggestions when the snow clears! | |

| I have MS and don't have the best movement/flexibility in my legs. When I get on my WR I usually stand on the left foot peg and swing over while the kick stand is down. The kick stand is really strong. I weigh over 250lbs mainly due to taking steroids for MS treatment, and also partly for being terminally lazy. The bike is awesome though it carries my diseased fat ass up and over the mountains no problem and gets great gas mileage. Couldn't be happier with it. | |

| .....I contracted that this past winter and am sure I'll pay for this summer! I tried the kick-stand down, stand on the left peg...technique today and it worked! Thanks! | |

Glad you only contracted terminal laziness. I am not sure if having MS or terminal laziness is worse. Glad to be of assistance. I used to live in Michigan in the late 80's, graduated High School there. Still have lots of friends and family living there. cheers
