| Basically, like you hit the kill switch, or suddenly developed a bad connection with the ignition coil. | |

| x2 on above ^ In fact i always wonder why anyone that owns this "bullet proof little screamer" hasn't tested the limiter at least once...... you will be surprised at how far it builds up before it hits the cut off. Give it a go mate and let us know, Cheers. | |

A lot depends on what gear you're in when it happens and what you're doing. If you're in a group ride with faster bikes, and you're twisting the throttle super hard to keep up with them and you're in first gear....hitting the rev limiter will feel like the bike dropped an anchor on you and you'll almost pitch forward over the handlebars. If you creep up on the rev limited in 4th or 5th gear it'll just basically stop making power and sound like the bike became a 12 stroke machine that's running out of gas. I've hit the rev limiter in every gear except 6th. Done it on purpose a few times, most of the time in lower gears I was trying to keep from being left in the dust by faster bikes. Don't be scared. Find the limit of your bike's engine. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

Bingo! That must have been it. I'm not afraid to hit the limiter. But yesterday, inexplicably, I was a hooligan on steroids. I hit the limiter all day. But it felt different at times so I started to wonder, just a bit, if something was wrong. Now I need to figure out what set me off on a hooligan rampage. Miracle I did not get busted.

| I believe it's 10,800 based on some math another member here did once regarding the gearing and mph I was hitting in different gears at rev limiter.
Yamaha claims 11,000 _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| Yes Yamaha lists 10,000 RPM as when the MAX power is made, but the actual rev limiter is definately set higher than that. I know that i "checked" it a few times on my bike with the TACH display whilst riding in DIAG mode, and from memory it was at least up to 10,800 rpm, and maybe it was even up into the 11,000 + range ? In any case it's simple enough for any of you fellow owners to just check for yourself by accessing the TACHO in DIAG mode - then spin her up to the limiter in 2nd, 3rd, 4th - hell, maybe even 5th or 1st if you're feeling lucky punk ! lol.....I'd go out right now and just do it myself to report back, but my engine is not as "light" and free spinning on the higher top end since fitting the 290 kit. I don't really want to risk "throw'n a rod" just to win a friendly debate, lol. Anyway enough talk now hey boys..... so take off your skirt, get on the bike, access DIAG/TACHO mode & just rip into it hey..... Who ever reports back 1st with conclusive test details wins "member of the week" Cheers | |

| Mine always quit making power a good bit before the limiter. Peak HP is 8700, I would usually shift around 10kish. Most dyno reports ive shown show it revving to 11.5, I would assume they have a sensor on the spark plug wire. | |

| That chart says the stock vs pipe and programmer numbers are the same? | |

Yeah they probably needed to pull off the airbox door to make use of the exhausts ;)
