My New headlight, opinions??

Well Im truly up in the air about it but i just cant stand the 80's stock one, not sure if this is the right one but its a change non the less, honest opinions please!
at least it will only take me 5 minutes to change it back to stock. Was going for a wr450f look with the white headlight but not really digging that stock 450 headlight either.

I don't think it looks bad at all. Nowhere near as odd looking as some other after-market headlights I've seen.

What would seal the deal one way or the other for me would be how well it works. Especially at night.

Is there any issue with the two little points on the underside of the shroud making contact with the fender?
Vibration noises or potential for noise?

I bet for many people you could say it's a European model headlight and most would not think twice about it.

In my honest opinion, it looks too flat while being angled back too far.
Simply looks like it was duct taped in place and doesn't belong there.
I think the stock one looks better than this one.

Appreciate the honest opinions, well its definitely no better than stock, throws just about identical light which I never ride this bike on the trails at night there is just WAY to much sand here and the shadow just screw you up and make you crash, all this 3-4ft deep of sand is hard enough in the day time!
the problem with pushing it back any further is the actual light housing is in the way, I can maneuver it almost flat up against the forks but looks ridiculous and even worse that way and aims straight down at the fender. I actually have another polisport Halo on the way just like my old wr250r had but figured I would try this one out because it wasn't a bad price.

Certainly looks much better than the leftover 80s light that comes stock. A guy here once posted a pic of his light from a XT 660, which I think is a Euro only bike, but it's exactly what the stock should be in my opinion. These are the top sub-10k dual sports, but the light makes it look somewhat old and outdated. Honda and Kawasaki got their looks bang on.

Gives it a real cool Euro/KTM look, KyTaMaha  Reminds me of the Trailtech X2 too, but without the small circles which look kinda meh. Love the white on blue too, one of the best looks I've seen on one of these bikes. I would have tried cutting/filing down those points a little bit to try and get it more flush with the fender though, or putting some tape or a piece of plastic in that gap. Guess it doesn't really matter if you aren't keeping it.

You said it wasn't a bad price, guessing it is one of the Chinese Copycats from Ebay? Not too sure on the quality of those, you do get what you pay for. I guess if you wanted to keep the look, you could go buy a real KTM EXC light for the better quality (like bulb aiming, so you can mount it flush and not have a low light) and DOT rating.

Let us know how the Halo looks like on your bikes trim/colors. I think an Acerbis Vision HP may look good too, but it's $50 more and apparently not as great a light as the Halo.

The black and white looks pretty good, and the unit sets well on the stock fender. Dat triangle gap doe.

still better than the stock one by far, if there was a better looking one I would love to get my hands on it but I just cant find it. I had the polisport on my old bike and liked it a lot but the black blended so much better.

Oh yeah, that doesn't look that bad at all. Anything is better than the stock, I don't know what Yamaha is thinking with that thing. Must have been  at the time.

It would no doubt look much better if they extended the light down to fill in that gap though.

Can be any color you want it to be.

lol they think its awesome, so I do it for the kids!! well thats what I tell my wife
this one was sitting on the other side of the play room, I had a guy come put a water system in our house yesterday and he was wow this is awesome the look on his face when he saw 2 bikes sitting in the house was hilarious. Really its just to damn hot to work on them out in the garage plus when I am home with the kids I can watch them and play with the bikes too!

Where'd you get this one? It's much better than the stock square.

yes, the yz250f absolutely ruined me after riding that.. all the power, light weight, suspension, it was truly hard to get back on the wr after that, so now the yz is also up for sale after only 2 rides because I really need a street legal bike, I know it sounds crazy to sell 2 bikes for one but after test riding a ktm 500 xcw its like having a street legal yz but with even more power the bike is just insane and I have to have it lol. I am a maintenance nut so I will be used to that and guys are going 350-400 hours plus on the bikes and just replacing the rings on the ktm's they seem to be very reliable not wr reliable but the little I get to ride(maybe twice a month) and to have that excitement every time I get on the bike is would be awesome.

You mean the KTM500EXC, the one that rolls off the showroom floor fully street legal?
Which ever model you get, with a 500, I doubt you'd need to do any kind of overhaul anytime soon.

you got it, thats the one! not sure what Im gonna do with over 50 hp stock but I can tell you this I will not have to do many mods to satisfy my power needs!

yes very excited for sure, just waiting on a buddies 690 enduro to arrive so we can pick them up together, I decided on the xcw over the exc because of the gearing 13/50, black wheels, no emissions, better mapping/unlocked ecu, and I planned on replacing all the huge tail light stuff and plate holder anyways.
