I made my own.

Thickness is not important. As long as your srews don't bottom out before a seal is made between your plate and the cylinder head you're okay.

I removed the AIS piece, placed it on a piece of 0.070 thick aluminum sheet, traced a line with a pencil, and hacked away with a hacksaw, then filed the sharp edges.

Cost me nothing but time. It was kinda fun though so......

What did you use for a gasket? Is heat an issue?

I went with 2mm stainless steel, orignal gasket and a jigsaw.
Hard enough, stiff enough and should hardly corrode at all.
Used the rest of the steel to tidy up the rear end/plate holder.

Steel! for a plate holder it's not to heavy is it?
I just used plastic.

I used steel for a few reasons. I had the bit lying around, it's not heavy by any stretch, the legal plate is enormous, I can attach a small mudguard if I want and I am still considering drilling holes out of it to make it lighter.
