hey guys,

Easy one, went to bring my bike home from the cottage today and the seat fell off in my hand. Looks like the two bolts holding the seat on came loose and I lost them on the trail somewhere.

Any cool solutions, besides buying new ones from Yamaha? What is the size ans specs etc.

Thanks

Same thing happened to me the other day. The bolts you need are 6mm X 20mm bolts. You can get them at a hardware store. Don't forget the washers. Here is a link to me discussing it over in the monster ADVrider thread, my post is towards the bottom. I quoted one guys solution using thumb bolts. Great idea. As it turns out, the bolts that connect the seat strap under the seat are the exact same size as the seat bolts. I had removed my strap long ago and just re-used the bolts under the seat.

Hope this helps.

Also.... a little loctite goes a long way in keeping your seat bolts from falling out.

Not thinking that at all! Actually, that stuff works great! Somewhere in between Loctite Blue and Red strength wise...

But I love the loctite blue on my nails. It matches my jacket and helmet. Very happy
